NSF Privacy-Preserving Data Sharing & Analytics (PPDSA) Funding Opportunity

The National Science Foundation (NSF) released a solicitation for Privacy-Preserving Data Sharing in Practice (PDaSP) Privacy-Preserving Data Sharing in Practice (PDaSP) | NSF – National Science Foundation. In summary this proposal:

“Supports the advancement of privacy-enhancing technologies and their use to solve real-world problems. Aligned with a recent executive order on AI, PDaSP will enhance the ability to privately share and analyze data for a range of use cases and applications.”

This blog post is for any organization which is considering submitting a proposal for one of these awards.

Anonomatic is not eligible to submit a proposal because this research grant does not include existing technologies. PII Vault  already accomplishes their goals. However, for any organization which is considering applying for these funds, you are eligible to use Anonomatic’s patented and proven solution to enable your own proposal.

For the past four years, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), through their agent the L.A. Trust for Children’s Health, has been successfully running the largest and most successful PPDSA project you’ve never heard of. The Data xChange collects detailed HIPAA regulated data from 17 healthcare facilities and links that data, at the individual level, with detailed FERPA data from LAUSD.

The most significant  technological breakthrough about the Data xChange is the data they collect, and combine at the individual level, is completely de-identified. This is PPDSA in practice!

This would be impossible if LAUSD was using legacy Privacy Enhancing Technology (PET) such as encryption, differential privacy or even futuristic solutions such as Homomorphic Encryption. Instead, they are using brand new, and provenly effective technology from Anonomatic known as Poly-Anonymization. With Poly-Anonymization the data does not lose any of its analytical value, or individual specificity. Data remains completely anonymous.

If you would like to learn how your organization can handle the security components of your PDaSP proposal, and have it operational in one day, please reach out. We would love to help you get your NSF proposal accepted.  sales@anonomatic.com
